Hypercar team changes
  • 2024 World Endurance Drivers' Champions Porsche Penske Motorsport withdrew from Hypercar amid a shift in focus to IMSA and Formula E.[24] Despite plans from Roger Penske, Christian Ried and FAT International's Ferdi Porsche to keep the 963 in WEC,[25] the customer No. 99 Proton Competition car was a casualty of Porsche's exit.[26]
Porsche (left) pulled the plug on its Hypercar programme, as Genesis (right) entered WEC for the first time.
  • Genesis Magma Racing, the racing division of Hyundai luxury brand Genesis, made its prototype debut with an Oreca-built LMDh.[27][28]
  • Toyota Gazoo Racing reverted to the Toyota Racing name, last used in 2015, and renamed its GR010 Hybrid as TR010 Hybrid as part of a bodywork update.[5][29]
