Background and release

“If I’m being honest, I’m really trying to prove something to myself. Ever since I put ‘London’s Savior’ out, I was like, damn, I don’t know if I’m able to make another self-produced project that has that power. I couldn’t let myself die without proving that I’m able to create an amazing self-produced project from scratch. I’ve come to realise that more now because the music I’ve been making recently – I’ve had the idea in my head that this might be played live. I never used to think that. Even when I was making ‘London’s Savior’, I wasn’t considering doing shows. But all the music I made last year – and especially the upcoming EP and main album – this is beautiful stage music. It’s arena music. I’m definitely more excited to perform now than I ever have been.

Fakemink first rose to fame with the release of his 2023 album London's Saviour, and following his rise to stardom, he continued to maintain his fame with single releases such as "Easter Pink", "MAKKA", and "Givenchy".[2]

In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Fakemink reflected on whether he suffers from impostor syndrome, as well as his production style, to which Fakemink said he wanted to prove to himself that he can craft an "amazing self-produced album from scratch." He also cited how seeing Kanye West perform "They West" also helped inspire him to create his own self beats, saying how it "changed me".[1][3]
