Pelangi di Mars

Pelangi di Mars is an upcoming 2026 Indonesian live-action animation family science fiction film directed by Upie Guava and produced by Mahakarya Pictures. It stars Messi Gusti, Lutesha, and Rio Dewanto, and is about the first human to born and grow up in Mars in 2090. The film is set to be released on 18 March 2026, coinciding with the 2026 Idul Fitri holiday.[1]

The film is Upie's feature directorial debut after being known for directing music videos, mainly of NOAH, and the documentary Kemarin (2020).[2] The production utilises extended reality and a hybrid production method which combines live-action shooting with 3D virtual environments.[3]

Synopsis

In 2090, Earth is no longer habitable due to a water crisis, caused by the megacorp Nerotex's water monopoly. This forces humans to establish a Martian colony. Pelangi (Messi Gusti) is the first human to born and grow up in Mars. After her mother Pratiwi (Lutesha) and other colonies left Mars, she lives with a group of abandoned robots. With them, she embarks on an adventure to find the mineral zeolith omega, which is believed to be capable of purifying water on Earth.
