Pantsuit Politics is a bi-weekly American political podcast launched in November 2015.[2][3][4] It features a bipartisan discussion format and is hosted by Sarah Stewart Holland and Beth Silvers. The show is distributed by Lemonada Media.[5]
Background
Holland originally created the podcast to focus on women in politics.[3][6] She and Silvers had previously discussed political topics on Holland's blog.[7][8]
In their first episode, the hosts introduced themselves as "Sarah from the Left" and "Beth from the Right".[6][9] Silvers later left the Republican Party after its nomination of Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election,[3][10] and the show later adopted the tagline "the home of grace-filled political conversations".[11]
Reception
In its first four years, Pantsuit Politics has been streamed over four million times.[4][12] In February 2021, the podcast was featured in Apple Podcasts Spotlight.[13] Later in December 2021, it was included in Apple Podcasts' "Shows of the Year" list.[14]
Books
In 2019, Holland and Silvers authored a book titled I Think You're Wrong (But I'm Listening): A Guide to Grace-Filled Political Conversation, which was published by Thomas Nelson.[7][3][15] The book outlines the hosts’ guidance,[7][16] in which Silvers and Holland aimed to translate their podcast's conversational style into a practical approach.[17]
In May 2022, Holland and Silvers published their second book, Now What? How to Move Forward When We're Divided (About Basically Everything), released by Revell Publishing.[18] This book focuses on strategies for individuals to navigate political polarization.[19]
