Faisal Khan (born 1993), professionally known as Khan Sir (pronounced [ˈxɑːn səɾ] ⓘ), is an Indian educator and YouTuber based in Patna, Bihar. He runs an institute that prepares students for various competitive exams in India.[2]
Early life and education
Khan was born into a wealthy family in Bhatpar Rani, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, in 1993. His father worked as a contractor while his mother was a housewife.[1][3] He completed his early schooling at Parmar Public School in Bhatpar Rani. After completing his schooling, Khan studied at the University of Allahabad, pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. Additionally, he holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in geography.
In 2025, Khan announced that he has married A. S. Khan; the identity of his wife has not been made public.[4][5]
Career
Khan started his YouTube channel named Khan GS Research Centre and started teaching online. He also launched an app in 2021 and started offering online courses to students who are unable to come to the city to study offline. [6]
Future plans
Khan Sir purchased 99 katha (3.09 acres) of land at Koilwar near Arrah in the Bhojpur district of Bihar in August 2025 for undisclosed purposes.[7]
Controversies
On 24 April 2021, Khan shared a video on France-Pakistan relations that eventually went viral. Many X users criticized the video and called Khan Sir islamophobic. Others found some pictures of him celebrating Raksha Bandhan, a festival that is mainly celebrated by Hindus, after which he issued a clarification on YouTube. [1]
On 27 January 2022, a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at the Patrakar Nagar police station against six teachers of different private coaching centers, including Khan's, and 16 others in connection with violent protests over the Railway Recruitment Board's NTPC examination. The FIR was registered on the basis of statement of some protesters who were taken into custody by the police during the violent protests at the Rajendra Nagar Terminal. [8][9]
On 7 December 2024, Khan took part in a protest against the changes made in BPSC preliminary examination. [10]
Social work
Khan Sir opened a hospital in Patna, which attempts to offer affordable treatment to all. He opened a fully equipped dialysis centre and operating theatre. Apart from that, it will also have a blood bank and a cancer treatment centre.[11][12]
