Fox, stylized as FOX and formerly known as Caliente TV, is a privately owned sports pay TV channel of Mexico (which was previously also a streaming platform), founded by Grupo Caliente and owned by Fox Corporation.[1] On July 29, 2025, Caliente TV announced its name change to Fox after being acquired by Fox Corporation. The change took effect on August 4, and it was revealed that the channel would launch on pay TV operators on September 1, 2025. Its broadcasts are also available through social media and the streaming platforms Tubi and Fox One.[2]
History
On June 19, 2025, it was confirmed that Fox Corporation had acquired Caliente TV to expand its presence in sports broadcasting — which it already had through Tubi in Mexico and Central America — via a future multiplatform offering that would include, in addition to the free Tubi service, a subscription television channel and a paid streaming service.[3] On July 28, 2025, Caliente TV officially rebranded to FOX, marking the end of the transition period announced by Fox Corporation after acquiring the channel. The last show broadcast under the Caliente TV name was Los Primos, which was followed by Season 2 of Desencajados, now under the FOX banner.[4] The social media accounts of Caliente TV also changed names, going from "Deportes Caliente TV" to "Somos FOX." On August 5, 2025, it was announced that FOX would be available via Tubi for the rest of the month, and that its formal broadcasts on pay TV systems, as well as digital streaming via the paid Caliente TV service (which would retain the previous channel's name), would begin on September 1, 2025. However, the full rollout on pay TV had not been completed, with the channel being officially available on only one system as of September 17.[5]
