Boy Throb is an American boy band, composed of members Evan Papier, Zachary Sobania, Anthony Key, and Darshan Magdum. The band first gained popularity on TikTok. The group has been subject to debate regarding its authenticity as a genuine musical act.[1][2] The group's primary goals are for Magdum to acquire a visa, and to win a grammy. [3]

Members

Boy Throb has four members, all four of whom wear pink tracksuits and yellow sneakers.[1]

  • Evan Papier, on his own, has 700,000 TikTok followers on his account, which he uses to publish videos of himself singing and dancing. Papier is 23 years old and is from Nashville, Tennessee.[1]
  • Zachary Sobania has a TikTok account, on which he creates videos of himself dancing. Sobania also plays the guitar and violin. Sobania was born in 2002, and before founding Boy Throb, he studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and worked as an intern at a law office.[1]
  • Anthony Key, outside of Boy Throb, has released a solo album, K-E-Y KEY!, and, with his sister Nicki, runs the cosplay account "Genshin Cosplay ASMR." In 2021, Key auditioned for American Idol with the BTS song "Dynamite."[1]
  • Darshan Magdum found success in 2024 making off-tune cover versions of hit songs. Magdum has 754,000 Instagram followers, and is the only member to not live in the United States, currently residing in India.[1] Darshan uses a laptop screen to virtually join the other members in Boy Throb's videos.[2][4]

History

Boy Throb was created towards the end of October 2025 by the four current members. By 29 November 2025, the band had amassed one million followers on TikTok and 500 thousand on Instagram. Boy Throb has performed at a nursing home and a public park.[2]

Their fans call themselves "Throbbers" or "the Throb Mob". [3]

Boy Throb maintains that the group is not satire.[5]

Darshan campaign

The group's first videos involved the call to action to get Magdum to the US from India. They asserted that their immigration lawyer, Dana, said that if the group got one million followers, this could be leveraged to get Magdum a O-1 visa. The group achieved this number on Tiktok in December 2025.

Discography

The group released its debut single “Finger” on 12 December 2025.[6] On January 30, 2026, they released the accompanying music video, produced by Charlotte Rutherford.[7]
