History

The first mention of the village of Bohdalín dates back to 1379, which it was called the name, Bohdalovo, in the land register of the Rožmberk family, which, however, refers to even older, unpreserved records of the Malovce family of Lišov. In 1610, it passed into the hands of the squire Václav Vencelík of Vrchovišť, who was then stripped of it for participating in the uprising against Emperor Ferdinand II after the Battle of Bílá Hora in 1620. The estate, together with Bohdalín, then passed into the hands of a foreigner, which was called Jindřich Paradys of Eskaide in 1623 for 100,956 Meissen kopecks. After the death of Jindřich Paradys, the estate was divided into Kamenice and Černovice. Bohdalín was assigned to the Černovice estate, which was inherited by the local Talmberk family. In 1680, there was a great plague, which was caused by rats carrying fleas. The plague nearly wiped out the entire population of Bohdalín, but it still expanded until 1910.[2]

Economy

A total of 30 million koruna is planned to be made in 2026, from personal income tax, water fees and more. Bohdalín plans to use 32 million koruna to improve the city.[3]
