Allison Wright (Prudhoe, 11 December 1965) is an English archer.
Allison Wright (often referred to as Allison Wright Kelly) was a remarkable and deeply inspirational figure in British archery, particularly in the Field and 3D disciplines. She only took up archery at the age of 50, demonstrating incredible natural talent. In just a few years, she went from being a novice to a multiple NFAS (National Field Archery Society) national champion in the American Flatbow (AFB) and Barebow categories. As part of Team GB, she represented Great Britain at the 2019 World Archery 3D Championships in Lac La Biche, Canada, where she finished 11th individually (the best result for a British archer at that event). That same year, she was named "Sportswoman of the Year" at the Sport Tynedale Awards.
Her story has become famous in the UK not only for her sporting achievements, but for her incredible fortitude: after being diagnosed with a terminal illness in 2020 (with an initial life expectancy of just a few months), Allison returned to competition in 2021, winning the NFAS National Championships while undergoing experimental treatment.[1][2][3][4][5]
